How to install itunes 8?

am unable to install Itunes 8 on my new windows xp laptop. After downloading from Apple, i have tried to run through the installation and right click on the icon nothing happens. Does anyone know what causes this issue and how to fix it?Any help will be extremely appreciated.

It may be that what you're downloading is the Mac version of iTunes, First, try checking if the version of iTunes you're downloading matches your system Or If you go threw their archives and download a previous version of the installation and install that it may work, there was a problem with the most recent version of iTunes.

Try to install the itunes 8 by right clicking on the executable and choosing Run as Administrator or Run the command prompt as administrator, Click start and within the start search type cmd and right click on cmd and Run as Administrator > Once command prompt opens > type net user administrator /activate:yes.

To install iTunes or QuickTime software, you need to be logged in as an administrator on the computer. Right click on iTunes insallation and select "Run as Administrator". After you install it should be on the start>all programs menu if it doesnt automatically start. iTunes and QuickTime software for Windows require Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows Vista with latest Service Pack installed.
